What is Dry Needling?

Dry needling is a technique used by our podiatrists here at Narellan Foot Clinic to alleviate pain caused from certain trigger points in your feet. These trigger points are found in certain muscles and are quite often painful when direct pressure is applied. Trigger points can develop gradually over time or after an acute injury such as an ankle sprain. Elise has years of experience with dry needling and is passionate about your foot health. Book an appointment online or over the phone today.

How is dry needling done and how will it help?

The Dry needling technique is usually conducted by inserting a thin needle (very similar to an acupuncture needle) into the muscle’s trigger point. This is not as painful as it sounds! You will often experience a dull muscle twitch and some short term minor ache or relaxation of the muscle. It works by relieving muscle tension and improving the muscle function and range of motion. The benefits of dry needling at Narellan Foot Clinic can be experienced very soon after the treatment. It can be used as an individual treatment or in conjunction with other therapies. Our podiatrists have found common conditions such as plantar fasciitis, shin splints, forefoot pain and ankle sprains have benefited from the treatment.

If your muscles aren’t working as they should or you have restricted movement due to pain, you cannot perform as the best version of yourself. Book your appointment today.
